The Condition Monitoring course focuses on practical application of the ANSI/HI 9.6.5 guideline, Rotodynamic Pumps: Guideline for Condition Monitoring, with a focus on reliability and performance issues that are costly to the overall plant. The course covers proper monitoring practices and typical indicators to monitor in a pumping system. The attendee will learn methods for anticipating failures and how to identify failure modes and causes when they occur. Vibration monitoring is also covered in detail.

In this 2-part course subject matter experts Paul A. Boyadjis, Director of Structural Analysis, Mechanical Solutions, Inc. and Maki Onari, VP of Turbomachinery Engineering, Mechanical Solutions, Inc. will look at actual pump systems and the application of condition monitoring to:

• Anticipate catastrophic failure
• “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure”
• Select indicators to monitor
• Establish baseline criteria
• Determine monitoring frequency
• Discuss what the indicators are telling you
• Discuss what the failures are telling you
• Taking action and responding to the indicators
• Applying the guideline to improve your preventative maintenance process
