Description

TOPIC: Presented by subject matter experts Amy Marroquin, Project Manager, BLACOH and Trey Walters, P.E., President of Applied Flow Technology, this webinar will review how reciprocating pumps start and stop flow with every revolution of the shaft, which results in system pressure pulsations that will be above and below the average. While normal, these pulsations require care in the design of the piping system and it’s accessories to ensure proper pump suction pressure, and reliable pump system operation.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

  • Learn about which types of pumps create pressure/flow pulsation and why
  • Issues/problems created by pulsation
  • Explanation of magnitude and frequency of pulsation for various pump type
  • Learn general principal of operation of a pulsation dampener
  • Types of Dampeners and their Pros/Cons
  • Primary and Secondary Criteria for Dampener Specification
  • Effect of Pulsation and Vibration on Piping Systems
  • How Analysis is Accomplished
  • Typical Solutions for Vibration Problems

AUDIENCE:
This presentation is ideal for those who want to learn more about reciprocating pump operation and the effect of pressure pulsations.

DURATION:
The webinar will last approximately 45 minutes with 15 minutes allowed for Q&A with the instructor
