This 1-part webinar is an introduction to variable speed pumping and how to use it for more efficient and better controlled pumping. It explains how flow and pressure are controlled with variable speed pumping and when to use each. Also covered are the devices used to achieve variable speed pumping, including variable frequency drives. The attendee will also learn the benefits provided by variable speed pumping, in relation to cost, operation, and energy savings.

Upon completion of this webinar, participants should be able to:
  • Understand concept of variable speed operating envelopes relative to system operating envelope and system control
  • Understand various process control philosophy and instrumentation.
  • Understand technology features, benefits, and concerns.
  • Understand energy, operational, and financial impacts of variable speed pumping.

The webinar will last approximately 45 minutes with 15 minutes allowed for Q&A with the instructor. Participants of the live session will earn one (1) PDH credit.
