This Pump Knowledge Workshop will be included in all HI Member’s Virtual Fall Conference Registration. If you are an HI member and plan on attending the Virtual Fall Conference you do not need to purchase this webinar from our eStore.

This webinar provides a basic framework to understand the best use case and unique capabilities of different manufacturing processes.  The webinar will cover fabrication, forging and casting techniques as primary forming processes for finishing by machining and post-processing for assembly and use to gain cost-effective performance. The emphasis is not intended to compare competitive advantages but to cover the benefits and characteristic challenges of each method to allow the exploitation of these processes by the industry.

Key learning objectives to take away from this webinar are:

  • To understand the opportunities and limits in design and use of fabrications, forgings and castings
  • To have a basic understanding of how the manufacturing process effects the design, value and performance of purchased components
  • To identify the unique sweet spots for the use of each process

Since 1902, the Steel Founders’ Society of America (SFSA) has represented the interests of steel foundries in the United States and abroad. SFSA membership is available to any foundry organization that manufactures steel castings. SFSA’s has extensive experience in steel technology development programs, market development, representing the industry globally in regulatory and specification development, and providing timely business information and state-of-the-art training.
